BEKI is adopting a new siddur for Shabbat and holidays. Imagine your pride at opening one of these books and seeing your dedication.
The new siddur, Siddur Lev Shalem, is a companion to the Mahzor Lev Shalem for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur that we have been using for the past several years. Siddur Lev Shalem incorporates everything we love about the High Holiday mahzor — robust commentary, clear design, and thorough transliteration — and brings it to our regular Shabbat worship. Featuring new readings and a beautiful translation of the Hebrew text, Siddur Lev Shalem expresses our values of inclusivity and modernity while maintaining traditional Judaism in all its diversity and dynamism.
Rabbi Woodward is eager for BEKI to use the new siddur, published by the Rabbinical Assembly in 2016. The ritual committee considered his proposal and voted to adopt the siddur.
Personalize it! Dedicate copies of the siddur in honor or in memory of loved ones or in appreciation of special occasions. A donation of $50.00 includes the cost of the siddur as well as the preparation of a bookplate.
Please fill in your siddur dedications in the form below.
In addition to adopting a new siddur for Shabbat and festivals,
BEKI is undertaking a redesign of the sanctuary
to reflect BEKI’s values of inclusion, accessibility, egalitarianism,
participatory communal prayer, and environmental sustainability.
