Betsy Ratner

The BEKI Art Gallery is pleased to present the work of BEKI member and artist Betsy Ratner during November and December 2017.

Betsy Ratner’s joy of life is reflected in her colorful mixed media collages. Inspired by her years of teaching gifted and talented students, Betsy turned to her own explorations of mindful, artful abstractions. Further influenced by her participation in collaborative dance, writing, and theater groups, she found new directions in her work by tapping into her own mind. In her energetic collages, gestures made of paint and paper dance across the surface.

Ratner further enlivens the work by playfully incorporating small repurposed objects, which she prizes for their color and form as much as symbolic meaning. As a national award-winning educator, Betsy’s participatory programs assist people in synthesizing mind and body awareness, with the goal of increasing happiness and fulfillment. As a healing artist, author, creative stress relief trainer and coach, she empowers individuals to explore their strengths through the arts.
