BEKI is pleased to present a photographic exhibition of selected innovative Judaica works designed by Amy Reichert.
Amy Reichert is known to many BEKI members as the creative designer of our newly installed ark in the renovated BEKI sanctuary. As an inventive thinker, she is recognized for her ability to translate the richness of Jewish tradition into contemporary material form. The union of sophisticated interpretation, contemporary design, and fine craftsmanship distinguishes her work for private and institutional clients around the world.
Reichert is an award-winning architect and Judaica designer. A graduate of Yale University, where she received her B.A. and Masters in Architecture, Reichert currently lives in Chicago. In addition to pursuing her craft, teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is known equally for designing elements of synagogue architecture and Judaica found in homes, museums and synagogues worldwide and is the recipient of awards for the quality of her designs.
Her work can be found in the collections of The Jewish Museum in New York, The Jewish Museum in Vienna, the Yale University Art Gallery and the San Francisco Contemporary Jewish Museum. Synagogue commissions have included Torah ornaments, arks, bimah furniture, ner tamids and mezuzahs.
Alongside this photographic exhibition, the Sisterhood Gift Shop is displaying a physical selection of her Judaica works.
